HIPPI 6400 Mbit/s Switch Control
(HIPPI-6400-SC)
(HIPPI-6400 is also commercially known as GSN.)
HIPPI-6400-SC Rev 2.5 (w/margin bars), and (clean copy without margin bars) dated August 11, 1998, is here. This version contains the last minute changes agreed to at the August '98 Portsmouth, UK, meeting. This is the revision that was forwarded for a second public review.
Public Review comment and approved Response, from the August '98, T11.1 and T11 Plenary meetings where the document was forwarded.
Status as of November 23, 1999 -
HIPPI-6400-SC was approved as an ANSI standard (NCITS 324-1999) on May 24, 1999. However, there was a change in ANSI procedures that required all edits in place prior to balloting. Because of this, final edits were made and the document was resubmitted for another round of balloting. Because of this, the standard has not yet been published. However, since it has been approved and there are no technical issues that have been uncovered during the construction of at least three different commercial switch designs, there is little likelyhood of any problems or technical changes.Document title -
High-Performance Parallel Interface - 6400 Mbit/s Physical Switch Control (HIPPI-6400-SC)
Abstract -
HIPPI-6400-SC provides a protocol for controlling physical layer switches which are based on the High-Performance Parallel Interface at 6400 Mbit/s (HIPPI-6400-PH), a simple high-performance point-to-point interface for transmitting digital data at peak data rates of 6400 Mbit/s between data-processing equipment.
