What's new in the HIPPI standards activities
September 11, 2003 - HIPPI-6400-OPT was approved as an ANSI standard on August 25, 2003. A maintenance version of HIPPI-6400-OPT (mirroring the approved ANSI standard but for standards development activities only) is included on this web site. The changes between this version and the previous version are all in the normative references on page 2.

HIPPI-6400-OPT, revision 2.5 w/o change markers in pdf formatNovember 28, 2001 - Added a new version of HIPPI-6400-OPT to respond to comments from the NCITS Public Review of revision 2.3. The comment (made by David Hyer of Compaq) noted that the specification of 1300 nm multimode operation was incomplete. While there are several potential ways to fix this problem, the easiest is to remove this mode of operation. That's what has been done in this new version. That's not to say that T11.1 will decide to follow this particular path, but Don Tolmie and I thought it was a strong possibility and decided to produce this version on speculation that we might go this route.

Note that there were a few MS Word to pdf problems in creation and that page 29 is missing a bit of text. I'll bring it along in viewgraph format to the meeting and Don Woelz will be attempting to fix the problem for the next version. The date of the document is also incorrect, but the "printed on" date (also on the first page) along with the version number is correct.

February 2 - Added a maintainance copy of the ST standard. This is the exact document that will be passed forward to NCITS for public review. The only difference between it and the version that T11.1 and T11 voted on is (1) the page header has been changed from "working draft - ST Rev 3.6, 12-8-1999" to "dpANS NCITS xxx-200x", and (2) the other dates have been changed from "199x" to "200x"
